Large executive saloon
For a blend of luxury, style and performance you can’t go wrong with the Audi A6. This elegant executive saloon has been updated to include the very latest technology, including the optional Audi Connect giving in-cabin access to a wealth of information including weather, travel, news, events and much more.
With a significantly lighter body than previous versions (and most of its rivals) the A6 feels nimble for such a big car and the standard suspension provides a balance of comfort and control. You can choose from a range of powerful, efficient petrol and diesel engines; the A6 never feels remotely underpowered. And, as you step up the engine range, you’re struck by how effortless the performance becomes.
Audis have a reputation for classy interiors, and the A6 doesn’t disappoint. You’ll feel like you’re getting excellent value for money every time you step inside. The simple instrument panel is well laid out, but with just enough buttons to make you feel you’re well and truly in the 21st century.
There’s no lack of space – either in the cabin or the boot. The interior has a light and airy feel with more than enough head and legroom in both the front and rear seats. The boot has plenty of space for luggage, and, if you’re embarking on a major expedition, split/folding rear seatbacks will boost the available space.
The A6 Avant (estate model) has generous space for four people plus luggage, while the Audi A6 Allroad is a cross between a premium estate and an SUV, with strong diesel engines, superb quality and a huge boot.
Safety and economy
As you’d expect, the A6 is brimming with the latest safety kit, including six airbags and a stability control system that ensured maximum when crash-tested. Optional extras include rear side airbags and a system that steers you back on course if you start to wander from your lane on the motorway.
All mainstream A6s come with a diesel engine, and each is efficient and economical compared with its rivals. Low running costs, slow depreciation and strong resale values make most models sensible choices.
Is it time you introduced a little Vorsprung durch Technik into your life?
